EU Court Decision on TiO2 REACH classification TODAY!!! - General Court annuls the Commission Delegated Regulation of 2019 in so far as it concerns the harmonized classification and labelling of titanium dioxide as a carcinogenic substance by inhalation in certain powder forms. This is really good news and brings forward the fact that the inhalation issues that caused the classification of TiO2 in the first place were not really caused by TiO2 itself but rather from particle issues that would occur from any material which had fine particles like TiO2. I am glad that the EU court came down here on the side of science!! I believe this is a huge win for the industry and this should help add to the growing story to support the safety of TiO2 and why TiO2 should NOT be banned in foods, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics in the future in the EU and anywhere else in the World!!
